A big thank you to all those who supported our sapling sale. In total over 35 of our “small but mighty” saplings were distributed around the neighbourhood. Some of you commented on how small they were…well yes they are, but they are 2 years old. This miniature size reminds us all how important it is to protect the mature trees we have in our community.

To those who purchased a sapling, all funds were used to support Wilder Climate Solutions. The fall is a great time to plant, your sapling may look like a small twig, but we checked each and every one of the saplings and as long as there is green on the stem when you scratch it gently, it is alive and well. Please make sure your sapling is tucked in tight for the winter and put a protective barrier around it if possible, we used a wire tomato plant protector to protect ours. Adding mulch will also help to maintain moisture and provide a barrier to keep warmth in. Please let us know if your sapling doesn’t spring up in the spring, we do have a few more in storage.
